Healthy Neighbors Day
Yale University School of Nursing, in conjunction with Church Street South Apartments, held a “Healthy Neighbors Day” on Saturday, September 8, 2007.
This community event attracted over 120 people, including 50 student volunteers from YSN. Residents were offered free blood pressure and diabetes screenings, nutritional counseling, science and anatomy lessons, activities for children, food and refreshments, fun, and more.
“This is a great opportunity for Yale and our neighbors from Church Street South Apartments to strengthen relationships by participating in an afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun,” commented YSN student and New Haven native Everol Ennis '09, one of the organizers of the event. “Good health and good neighbors are so important.”
Other entities involved in this community event include the New Haven Police Department, Yale School of Public Health, Neighborhood Health Project, Advantage, and WYBC-94.3 FM.
