YSN's Tish Knobf Receives 2006 Oncology Nursing Society Excellence in Breast Cancer Education Award
New Haven, CT — January 12, 2006
Dr. Tish Knobf, an associate professor of oncology at YSN has received the 2006 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Excellence in Breast Cancer Education Award. This award supports and recognizes excellence and dedication to educating the public in general and patients about breast cancer. Nominees for this award must be oncology nurses. They also must have demonstrated initiative in developing or administering sound educational programs or public service that contribute to awareness of the importance of early detection and assisting patients with breast cancer and their families in maintaining a functional lifestyle. The award is supported by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
"This award represents my career goal of translating research to practice; for the nurse caring for women with breast cancer, and for women diagnosed and living with breast cancer," said Knobf. "It is a celebration of the work I love to do!"
